"Hey everyone! I'm Shelby and I'm a wedding and portrait photographer in Nashville, TN. I serve middle TN and pretty much anywhere you want to take me. Traveling is the BEST! I'm 36 years old. I've been professionally shooting for almost 13 years now, but truth be told, I've been obsessed since I was a toddler. My favorite toy as a 3-year-old was my toy camera. One of my favorite childhood memories is when my mom would take me to the local drug store, drop off my film from this week, and pick up last week's film. It was a never-ending cycle. She fed my habit and I couldn't be more grateful for her support! As an adult, I stumbled upon professional photography by complete accident. I had just gotten my first DSLR, and decided to help my local animal shelter by taking photos of the animals up for adoption. Well, word got out that I had a "fancy camera", and a friend of a friend reached out in a panic. "Hellllp, my wedding photographer bailed and I need someone THIS weekend!" I was a bit taken aback. I made sure to tell her....."hey look, I'll help, but I am NOT a wedding photographer". Hah! So...I pretty much bomber that wedding. But for some reason, a friend of the bride wanted me to do HER wedding, that same year. Did her wedding, sucked a little less at it. THEN....HER friend hired me for her wedding. By then, it seemed the universe had decided my career for me. Haha! So 12+ years later....here I am. Still obsessed with taking photos, but growing every day. I LOVE taking photos of people in love. It's such a cool feeling. I get goosebumps and I end up crying along with everyone else. But also I find that I NEED to create things of my own. I'm always coming up with things that I hope to push past what the average photographer shoots. I strive to be unique, as impossible as that seems these days. I spend hours editing, even when I "get it right in the camera". To me, the edit is just as important as the SOOC. Anyway, I'm rambling. Thank you SO much for the opportunity to get to showcase my work!!!"
